The number of insects in South Australia are expected to increase after a record wet year.
According to University of South Australia professor Chris Daniels, recent high rainfall is expected to result in an increase in insects, even the rare insect species.
According to the professor, we can expect to see caterpillars of moths and butterflies we probably haven’t noticed before. We will also see more Christmas and jewel beetles as conditions will be ideal for them.
But with the rare also comes the rise in common insect species including ants and termites.
To ensure your home and family are protected by keeping your doors and windows covered with insect screens.
